The history of the quality products of the Lignell & Piispan distillery goes back to the 19th century. At that time it was Gustav Ranin who made it his mission to produce spirits by hand to the best of his ability. In 1859 Ranin took over the "Crown Distillery", which had already been in existence for 76 years, and thus laid the first course for what is now the world-famous Finnish art of distilling. Today the distillery is already in its seventh generation.
