National hero

The fact that people with no political background can also achieve great things was shown by the national hero Don Papa in the Philippines. Once a simple foreman on a sugar cane plantation, the name Don Papa/Papa Iso today stands for the hero of the Philippine revolution. In memory of this brave and successful man, there is now the well-known brand of Don Papa Rum, which comes from the Philippine island of Negros.
Today it is loved around the world for its high quality and exceptional taste, and not just by rum connoisseurs.

Sherry Cask limited Edition

The basic distillate for this blended rum is the same, but after distillation and an initial maturation of 4 years in oak barrels, it is transferred to four different sherry barrels (Pedro Ximenez, Cream, Palo Cortado and Fino). The Don Papa rum is stored there for a further 18 months, until they are reunited and finally bottled.
During this time and through the selection of the different types of barrels, the rum was able to develop a very fruity, sweet bouquet. Nutty aromas combine with the fruity notes of the sherry, vanilla, plums and figs remain in the background and lead into a complex, long-lasting finish.

Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5, 0,7 Liter, 40%
Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 years 0.7L 40% The history and production of Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 The Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 is no ordinary rum. The story of the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 begins in the Caribbean. There, the individual rums for the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 are distilled from the best sugar cane in Guyana and Barbados. Guyana and Barbados represent a centuries-old rum tradition. While Guyana is known for very powerful, intense rums, the rums from Barbados are characterized by their fine, aromatic nuances. After the individual rums for the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 have been blended by master hands, they mature for at least five years in the tropical temperatures of the Caribbean. Barrels made of American white oak are used for storage; they are particularly popular because of their mild aroma. After this initial storage period, the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 is imported by Williams & Humbert to Jerez in Andalusia, Spain. Here the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 is matured for a further three years in barrels that once contained the best sherry. The Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 is finished for two years in former Pedro Ximinez (PX) sherry barrels, the high-quality contents of which remained in the barrel for over 20 years. This unusual and very exclusive maturation process gives the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 its unusual and very fine aroma! The taste of the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 The unusual storage of the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 is naturally also reflected in the taste. The Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 has intense dried fruit aromas on the nose, such as peach, dates and figs. On the palate, the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 has subtle notes of vanilla, nuts, orange peel and a distinct sweetness. The aftertaste of the Dos Maderas Rum PX 5 + 5 is very fine, elegant and immensely long. A great rum!

Don Papa Rum 0,7L 40%
Don Papa Rum 0,7L 40% (alte Abfüllung)
Don Papa Rum 0.7L 40% (old bottling) History of Don Papa Rum: The Philippines are not so well known in our latitudes for rum as for white beaches, coral reefs and palm trees. So it is not surprising that Tanduay rum produced in the Philippines is only known to a few connoisseurs. Tanduay is second only to Bacardi on the list of the most drunk rums in the world. Fortunately, since 2012, Don Papa Rum has become a rum in the consciousness of aficionados that not only has a unique history, but also comes from the Philippine island of Negros. The name of the rum goes back to Dionisio Magbuelas, better known as Papa Isio. He worked as a foreman on the island's sugar cane plantations and played a crucial role in the Philippine Revolution at the end of the 19th century, which sought independence from Spain. The armed resistance of the Katipunan, a freedom-seeking Filipino secret organization, against the Spanish authorities lasted from 1896 to 1898. When the revolution began, the Philippines had already been under Spanish rule for more than three centuries. With the support of the USA, but above all due to the unbroken will to fight and the desire for independence, the Filipino population was finally able to rid itself of the Spanish colonial power and was truly united for the first time in history. Don Papa was a leader of the insurgents and thus made a decisive contribution to the independence movement. Don Papa rum has been produced and distributed worldwide in his honor since 2012. However, this not only brings the history of the Philippine Revolution to the attention of rum connoisseurs. For every bottle of Don Papa rum sold, one euro is transferred to an aid fund that is used to rebuild the country after the devastating typhoon Hayan, which swept across the archipelago in 2013. Taste and production of Don Papa rum: Don Papa rum is produced in the Bago distillery from molasses, a highly viscous by-product of sugar production. A continuously operating distillation column is used for this. The finished distillate is then stored for seven years in former bourbon barrels made of American white oak. It is important to remember that the extremely hot and humid climate causes a significant part of the rum to evaporate and be lost as Angel's Share. Fortunately, the maturation process is also accelerated, which means that the Don Papa rum appears significantly older and more balanced than the storage time would initially suggest. On the nose, the Don Papa rum therefore presents full, intense notes of vanilla, caramel and honey. The pleasant sweetness is complemented by fresh orange and citrus fruitiness. The wood influence also provides complexity. The aroma leaves no doubt about the quality of the Don Papa rum and already clearly indicates that it is an excellent sipping rum for cozy hours. From the very first sip, the viscous, dark brown shimmering liquid caresses the tongue and leaves behind a full-bodied, strong and spicy taste impression. At first there are pleasantly sweet hints of vanilla, demerara sugar, maple syrup and candied oranges. These are accompanied by notes of baked apples, dark chocolate, honey, Christmas spices and oak. The finish is long and strong. The sweet fruitiness fades into the background and is replaced by a drier spiciness that has influences of tobacco and leather. Overall, Don Papa Rum is a full-bodied, highly complex sipping rum that is sure to delight and impressively proves that Filipino rum has no need to hide from its big brothers from the Caribbean.

English Harbour Rum Sherry Cask Finish Batch 3 0,7L 46%
English Harbour Rum Sherry Cask Finish Batch 3 0,7L 46%
English Harbour Rum Sherry Cask Finish Batch 3 0.7L 46% Rum from Antigua The history of rum production on Antigua begins very early. The first rum-like distillate was probably produced on the Caribbean island shortly after the first sugar cane was grown around 1650. Sugar cane production grew dramatically and in 1764 6,000 hectares of land were planted with sugar cane, which was processed in 78 factories. By 1939, however, this number had fallen to two and the end of rum production was in sight. To counteract the downward trend, a group of shop owners in Antigua came together in 1932, bought their own plantation and built a distillery. The Antigua Distillery initially produced in pot stills and had a matured and a white rum in its range, which were made from muscovado molasses. In the 1950s, however, these were replaced by a copper column system and the former name of the rum - Caballero - was changed to Cavalier. In addition to the Cavalier Rum, the Antigua Distillery also produces English Harbour Rum, which is intended for export. English Harbour Sherry Cask Finish The English Harbour Sherry Cask Finish Rum was stored for five years in ex-bourbon barrels made of American white oak and was then transferred to Oloroso sherry barrels from Spain, in which it spent a further three to six months. The production batches are relatively small and the English Harbour Sherry Cask Finish Rum is not chill-filtered and is bottled without artificial flavors and colorings. The nose reveals fine notes of cinnamon, pepper and cloves as well as traces of wood. On the palate, these notes are complemented by a fine orange fruit note, nuts and caramel. The aftertaste is peppery and relatively long. The strong finish is characterized by roasted aromas. The English Harbour Sherry Cask Finish Rum is the ideal accompaniment to fruity desserts or a light cigar. We also recommend enjoying it neat and using it, if at all, only in extremely high-quality cocktails. It is a small batch rum with numbered bottles and a limited edition.

Don Papa Masskara 0.7L 40% Don Papa the national hero 'Don Papa', a simple foreman of a sugar cane plantation, known as the hero of the Philippine revolution, is the namesake of this extraordinary rum. The rum comes from the Philippine island of Negros. The raw material for every rum grows particularly well on volcanic soil here, because the volcanic soil is rich in minerals. Masskara This limited version is characterized above all by its sweet aroma and is dedicated to the MassKara festival, a colorful festival that takes place on the island every October. 'Mass' stands for many, 'cara' for face. Honey in particular is one of the dominant notes, with the rum revealing 'many faces'. Masskara Rum is a rum that is known as 'flavored' among the rum varieties. For this purpose, honey, the citrus fruit Calamansi and Siling Lubayo (a small chilli pepper) were added to the rum. This creates a rum with a very typical Filipino character.

Botucal Reserva Exclusiva 0,35L 40%
Botucal Reserva Exclusiva 0,35L 40%
Botucal Reserva Exclusiva 0.35L 40% In Germany, Botucal Rum was known a few years ago under the name Diplomatico Rum and most consumers will be more familiar with this name. Due to a lengthy legal dispute with a German discounter that owns the trademark rights to a brandy called Diplomat, the name had to be changed. The manufacturer therefore decided to sell Diplomatico Rum for the German market as Botucal Rum. The name Botucal is derived from "Botuka", which means "green hill" in the local language and represents a growing region for the sugar cane used in Botucal Rum. The company Destilerias Unidas (DUSA) is behind the production and bottling of this Venezuelan rum. Originally founded as Licorerias Unidas in 1959 in La Miel, the company was initially under the management of the Canadian group Seagrams. The aim was to bring together all the major Venezuelan alcohol distribution companies. After the takeover of Seagram in 2002 by the spirits groups Pernod Ricard and Diageo, they are now responsible for the distribution of Botucal rum. The Botucal Reserva Exclusiva is the most successful bottling among the various Botucal variants. A complex blend of different rums, distilled in copper pot stills and matured in oak barrels for at least 12 years before they are artfully married and bottled at 40% ABV. This copper-colored rum reveals fine aromas of cocoa, dried ginger, cloves and fruit bread on the nose. On the palate it presents complex notes of caramel candies, vanilla, orange zest and banana, followed by a medium-long finish with an abundance of dried fruit and chocolate.
