The Danish emigrant Valdemar Hanschell founded the rum brand Cockspur on Barbados in 1884.
First, the Cockspur rum is distilled in copper stills using the so-called pot-style process. This is followed by a double distillation using the column-style process, which is intended to produce a lighter, fresher rum.

Old Time Recipe Falernum

This Falernum is produced according to a tradition that is over 100 years old. The Caribbean spices that provide the fantastic aroma are soaked in the base alcohol, i.e. macerated. To give the whole thing a fresh, fruity touch, fresh lime juice is added to the alcohol after this process.
