The rum-based spiced spirit contains many local spices and fruits from the independent island state, such as cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, coconut, allspice, lemon and orange peel. The bark of the potency tree (Richeria Grandis) is used as a special ingredient. This has always been known to the island's original inhabitants as an aphrodisiac under the name "Bois Bande".After the rum has been distilled in copper stills, it is filled into old Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey barrels to mature.
