A.H. Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum 0,7L 40%
A.H. Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Edition 0,7L 40%

AH Riise XO Reserve Rum 1888 Copenhagen Gold Edition, 0.7 L, 40% History and production of the AH Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum: Rum from Denmark seems unusual at first. The products of the Danish rum producer AH Riise Rum LLC are not distilled directly in Denmark, but on the American Virgin Islands, more precisely on St. Thomas, in the Caribbean. This fact also initially seems to have nothing to do with the small Scandinavian country. Historically, however, St. Thomas was occupied by the Danes in 1666 and was therefore considered a Danish colony. The goods produced there were sold profitably and were an important part of the Danish economy. In 1838, the Dane Albert Heinrich Riise was appointed the island's first pharmacist by royal decree. He developed various medicines for the Danish navy, supplied the local population with medicine, produced specially created tinctures and also sold genuine Caribbean rum, which quickly became very popular. Riise was a clever businessman and achieved worldwide fame and prosperity through his products. AH Riise Rum LLC is named after the famous pharmacist and shows the many facets of the popular molasses distillate with its numerous Caribbean rums, including the AH Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum. In 1888, the second Nordic Industrial, Agricultural and Art Exhibition took place in Copenhagen. The five Scandinavian countries Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland presented technical innovations and cultural achievements to over 1.4 million visitors for six months. AH Riise also exhibited his popular Caribbean rum in the West Indian pavilion, for which he was honored with the Gold Medal for outstanding products. The AH Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum was launched in memory of this historic event. Taste of the AH Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum: The AH Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum is a medium-strength rum with a nuanced aroma. Vanilla, honey, sweet pastries, candied fruit and chocolate are supported by an elegant oak spice. In the background, hints of herbs and spices can be detected, especially anise, liquorice and cinnamon. The multifaceted play of aromas of fruity, herbal and sweet notes is extremely harmonious and differentiated. The taste of the AH Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum is voluminous and strong. Dark fruits, brown sugar, candied apples, raisins and oranges, together with notes of dark chocolate and coffee, ensure a velvety, balanced mouthfeel. The combination of sweet, fruity and bitter aromas is very harmonious and elegant. The AH Riise 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum has a long-lasting finish that has notes of tobacco and leather in addition to oak spices. It fits in wonderfully with the first-class Caribbean rums from AH Riise.

Abuelo Rum 15 Jahre Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish 0,7L 40%
Abuelo Rum 15 Years Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish 0,7L 40%

Abuelo Rum 15 Years Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish 0.7L 40% This Abuelo Rum 15 Years Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish 0.7L 40% is part of the exclusive "Cask Finish" rum collection from Varela Hermanos SA, a third-generation family business in Panama and one of the most important rum producers in Central America. The fine sugar cane that provides the molasses as the basis for this rum is grown and harvested on the company's own plantations. After a molasses fermentation of around 2 days, the extensive distillation takes place in various column pot stills. Then the decisive maturation phase for the distillate begins, which lasts an impressive 15 years. First, this maturation takes place in ex-bourbon barrels made of American white oak using the complex Solera process, followed by storage in former ex-Oloroso sherry barrels. This unique combination gives the rum its sherry cask finish, which produces sweet and rich aromas with typical sherry notes of dried fruit as well as its reddish amber color. Notes of sherry, dried exotic fruits, raisins and light wood tones unfold on the nose. The palate experiences something similar, combined with a delicate and sophisticated blend of fruit and smoke. A truly wonderfully full-bodied rum for true connoisseurs.
