The Glendullan distillery itself was founded in 1898 by William Williams & Sons and was founded in 1902 by King Edward VII. The taste of Glendullan 18 YO is a pleasant whisky with a soft, smooth texture. A slightly sweet taste also comes through, but this is perfectly balanced by a fresh acidity and turns into a rich, spicy herbal aroma. Subtle notes of chili or pepper resonate. The finish is also soft, dry and absolutely well-rounded. If you add a drop of water to the whisky when tasting it, you get a nutty, spicy aroma with a subtle aroma reminiscent of cigars. A majestic phoenix, its wings of fire stretching upwards, brought new life to the Lagavulin distillery and enhanced the spicy intensity of this whisky. Lagavulin, the site of numerous legends, once sat enthroned in a rocky cove that housed the castle of the Lords of the Isles. This castle, a symbol of past rule, gave the distillery increasing popularity - a king destined to rule. This prized Islay malt is made at the roots of distilling and carries an intense, smoky character that dates back to over two hundred years of history. The Lagavulin 12 Years Special Release 2022 Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 57.3% presents itself in a shiny, shimmering gold and has a medium body. The aroma is dry and immediately permeated with intense smokiness, which is noticeably stronger compared to Lagavulin.
