The Savanna rum distillery located there is particularly known for its diversity. The distillery offers three 'basic' rum styles alone: Rum Agricole, which is made from fresh sugar cane juice, as well as Rum Traditionnel and Rum Grand Arôme. These are individually refined through various storage methods and offered on the market. The Blanc Creol Straight is one of the products in the 'Rum Agricole' style. Unlike brown rum, the Creol Blanc Straight was not aged in wooden barrels, but was bottled at cask strength immediately after distillation (also called 'brut de colonne'). Tasting With such a high-proof bottling, it is always possible that the alcoholic bite will be too strong when tasting. But this is different with this Rum Agricole. Despite the high alcohol content, it is pleasant to drink and gives the aromas plenty of room to develop. At the beginning you can detect sweet sugar cane notes. Savanna Rhum Traditionnel 2022 Bois Rouge 0.7L 57% On the coast of the Indian Ocean, at the foot of the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, the Savanna distillery has been handcrafting rare rums since 1870. After more than a century at the Domaine de Savanna, nestled in the foothills of the island's west coast, the distillery moved to the "Bois Rouge" site in Saint-Andre on the east coast in 1992. Released in 2022 in a limited edition to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this event, this old Agricole rum is a blend of six carefully hand-picked barrels. The nose opens with slightly minty vegetal tones, followed by tropical fruits and subtly spicy vanilla notes. The palate is lively, smooth and spicy, returning to fresh sugar cane.

Savanna Rhum Blanc Traditionnel Intense 0.7L 40% Actually, people from overseas departments such as Guadeloup, Martinique or La Réunion are more likely to be familiar with the high-quality Rhum Agricole, which is distilled from fresh sugar cane juice. In contrast to this is the Rhum Industriale or Rhum Traditionnel, which are distilled from molasses. The Savanna Rhum Blance Intense falls into the second category. The Savanna distillery uses regional sugar cane for this, which is further processed into sugar in the Savanna distillery of the same name. The resulting molasses is then used to make rum. Tasting the Savanna Rhum Blanc Traditionnell Intense is a real experience. You can expect an intense aroma, which is primarily characterized by fruity notes. The fruits include plums, bananas, tropical pineapples and mirabelles, which create a great balance between sweetness and fruit acidity. The aroma of barley malt and sugar cane is also recognizable.

Isautier Rhum Vieux Edition Louis & Charles 0.7L 45% The Isautier Louis & Charles Rhum is an exclusive special bottling from the oldest distillery on the beautiful island of La Réunion, Isautier. This exceptional rum is a blend of an agricultural rum that has been aged for 22 years and a traditional rum that has been aged for 14 years. After the marriage, the blend is first aged for 6 to 14 months in new French oak barrels and then in older "fûts roux" barrels. The Isautier Louis & Charles rum is bottled with an alcohol content of 45% vol. and has a dark amber tone. It impresses with soft, complex, fruity-sweet aromas.
