Savanna TWIE (The Wild Island Edition) Rhum Agricole 6 years Single Cask No 984 0.5L 57.6% Savanna Distillery After a long silence about the distillery, the master distilleries of the distillery are bringing a special series of the already well-known 'The Wild Island Edition' onto the rum market to mark the distillery's 150th birthday. Four new rums with very different taste profiles were created. Grad Agricole 2012 6YO Calvados Finish One of the four special bottlings is the 'Calvados Finish' Rhum Agricole. This has many fruity nuances on the nose. Apples, pears, a hint of vanilla and warm wood make you want more. On the palate it seems a little heavier compared to the light aromas on the nose. It is reminiscent of earthy, mineral tones, but then the fresh aromas come back at the end. Sweet sugar cane, vanilla and here the aroma of the Calvados comes through more clearly. In the finish, there are more bitter aromas of wood and some notes reminiscent of orange.

In addition to the best conditions for growing sugar cane, it is obvious that a rum distillery is also located here. This has been here since 1870. With its extraordinary nature and unique ecosystem, the island has many facets to offer. In order to express this and bring it to the world, it was decided to develop 'The Wild Island Edition'. It pays homage to wild nature, which is often still so original and untouched. Savanna Traditionnel 2003 16YO 'Armagnac Finish' The fourth product in 'The Wild Island' special edition is the Traditionnel 2003 16 YO 'Armagnac Finish'. It most closely reflects the typical rum character of Savanna. At first it is very intense and rich on the nose, but clear aromas cannot yet be detected. It needs some time to fully develop. Then earthy, almost mineral aromas emerge. It is reminiscent of salt water and slightly smoky to medicinal notes with subtle spices. On the palate it is clearly defined: rich and full in flavor with various spices and salty licorice. The sweet, tart molasses notes are just as noticeable as plum notes.

Isautier Rhum Vieux Edition Louis & Charles 0.7L 45% The Isautier Louis & Charles Rhum is an exclusive special bottling from the oldest distillery on the beautiful island of La Réunion, Isautier. This exceptional rum is a blend of an agricultural rum that has been aged for 22 years and a traditional rum that has been aged for 14 years. After the marriage, the blend is first aged for 6 to 14 months in new French oak barrels and then in older "fûts roux" barrels. The Isautier Louis & Charles rum is bottled with an alcohol content of 45% vol. and has a dark amber tone. It impresses with soft, complex, fruity-sweet aromas.
