Oxley Gin is produced in a special cold distillation process in which the aromas are extracted from the botanicals at -5°C. The botanicals (e.g. vanilla, aniseed and meadowsweet) are macerated in high-quality neutral alcohol and then everything is placed under a high vacuum and cooled to temperatures below freezing.
The reduced pressure causes the gin to evaporate and then condense again in a cold lance (-100° C). This process allows the aromatics to combine with the alcohol much more gently than would have been the case with another normal distillation.
The bouquet clearly shows the freshness of the ingredients used and the palate also has the finest citrus and almond aromas, whose freshness is second to none. In the aftertaste you can notice the 47% vol. clearly lingers, which many gin lovers consider very positive. A truly exceptional gin!
