Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky PX Cask 1,0L 48%
Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky PX Cask 1.0L 48% History and production of the Laphroaig PX Cask: The single malt whiskies from the Laphroaig distillery are among the smokiest and most flavorful in Scotland. Millions of fans around the world love the strong phenolic smoke that is produced by particularly heavily peated malt. The standard bottlings from Laphroaig are undeniably among the absolute classics and can be found in practically every bar. But Laphroaig is by no means resting on its laurels. Numerous new interpretations of the popular single malt have recently been released, all of which impress with their unique cask management. The Laphroaig PX Cask is undoubtedly one of these. The Laphroaig PX Cask is matured in a total of three different barrels and therefore proudly presents the “Triple Matured” label on the label. Storage begins in former bourbon barrels made of American white oak. These ensure an initial rounding of the taste. The resulting single malt whisky corresponds roughly to the 10-year-old standard bottling in terms of its composition and taste. Through further finishing, the desired aroma load of the other two barrels can now be specifically integrated into the taste profile in order to significantly increase the complexity. Next, so-called quarter casks are used for the Laphroaig PX Cask. These are small oak barrels with a capacity of just 50 litres, which, due to their small volume, ensure greater contact between the single malt whisky and the wood, thereby significantly intensifying the maturation process. The final finishing is very special and unique to Laphroaig. Hand-picked Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels are used. The sweet, heavy sherry ensures that rich aromas of raisins, apricots, nuts and plums are transferred to the single malt and provide an inimitable taste profile. Like many of the new bottlings from Laphroaig, the PX Cask was originally only designed for travel value. It is therefore all the more pleasing that we can now offer you the Laphroaig PX Cask in larger quantities in the drinkology shop. Taste of the Laphroaig PX Cask: In the nose, the Laphroaig PX Cask initially shows typical sherry aromas. Raisins, dried apricots, candied oranges and roasted nuts are present. These are supported by a delicate, pleasantly sweet smoky note. In the background, there are also hints of liquorice. Overall, the Laphroaig PX Cask has a truly exceptional aroma profile. The otherwise typical smokiness is reduced and the sweet sherry influences come to the fore without being intrusive. The composition achieved in this way is very well balanced and harmonious. A similar picture can be seen in the taste. The Laphroaig PX Cask is initially dominated by sweet sherry notes, which are surrounded by delicate smoke and spicy oak. The impression of a salty sea breeze combined with a hint of liquorice is present in the background. The high level of complexity is further enhanced by the long-lasting, dry finish, which also has notes of oak and espresso. The Laphroaig PX Cask is a truly fabulous single malt whisky and an absolute must for lovers of the distillery. But even beginners who otherwise find the strong smokiness too intense will get their money's worth here.

Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 'Lore', 0,7L 48%
Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 'Lore', 0.7L 48% Tradition meets skill Laphroaig is a traditional whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. The distillery's historic buildings are even listed as worthy of protection in the Scottish monument lists. The distillery is located in the middle of a small, natural bay. The distillery was officially founded in 1815. The brothers Donald and Alex Johnston were responsible for it and soon set new standards in the production of fine spirits, such as the Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 'Lore'. The company is now owned by the Japanese-American Beam-Suntory Group. With the will of two brothers Lore stands for the transmission of acquired knowledge and old traditions. The Johnston brothers created the basic structure for Lore Whisky as early as 1800, 15 years before they actually became independent. Since then, the fine tipple has been further developed by several experienced master distillers for Laphroaig. For the most part, 15 to 21 year old distillates from the Scottish house were used for the single malt. These had previously been able to fully develop their collected aromas in first fill sherry butts, quarter casks, European oak barrels and ex-bourbon barrels. A small portion of younger malts were added, which give the single malt whisky a fresh kick. The blend is simply incredible! Fruity, sharp-witted companion On the nose, the Laphroaig appears full-bodied, with a smoky and maritime note. This is accompanied by delicious dark chocolate and a subtle hint of ash. The whisky is very mineral and intense on the palate, and its peppery notes are also impressive. The taste is a little heavy at first, but the fruity aromas still come through. There is a lot of oak and a little spicy forest honey that makes the tongue dance. Aromas of dried fruit such as raisins, figs and banana chips also come through, which characterize the Lore. The finish is long-lasting, intense and sweet to slightly bitter. To make the whisky a little easier to drink, you can also dilute it with a small splash of water.

Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 25 Yo 2020 Edition Cask Strength 0,7L 49,8%
Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky 25 Years 2020 Edition Cask Strength 0.7L 49.8% The island of Islay Islay is one of the Inner Hebrides and is the southernmost of this group of islands. The history of whisky goes back a long way here, albeit illegally. Irish monks are said to have discovered the art of distillation here. Since the island was very isolated from the mainland at the time, the production of island-typical spirits naturally boomed, which the tax collectors absolutely did not like. Ultimately, however, the laws were changed to the advantage of the distillers and more and more legal distilleries were able to settle on the island. One of these legal distilleries has been the Laphroaig distillery on the south coast since 1815. The founders Donald and Alexander Johnston chose the name after the distillery's surroundings, which are a 'broad valley in the bay'. Good things come to those who wait This whisky is one of the best proofs that length of maturation is often what counts. For this single malt whisky, fresh Laphroaig was divided into two different barrels. One part matured in ex-bourbon barrels, the other part in Oloroso sherry barrels. The whisky was then allowed to mature and develop its full aromas for a quarter of a century. The storage facilities in the warehouses directly on the Atlantic play a particularly important role here. Laphroaig's notes always have something medicinal and a hint of seaweed. Added to this are the aromas of the different barrels. Slightly sweet, fruity notes from the sherry barrels, paired with vanilla and oak notes from the bourbon barrels. After this long maturation period, it was bottled directly at cask strength.
