However, the La Mauny rum is not made from molasses as is usual, but from freshly pressed sugar cane juice. This produces high-quality rum, which is also known in specialist circles as 'Rhum Agricole'. After distillation from sugar cane juice, the La Mauny Blanc is then aged for a short time, in this case around three months, in oak barrels.
