This is white rum that is made entirely by hand. It all starts on a four-hectare terroir planted with red sugar cane. It is harvested by hand and finds its way to the distillery. The fourth edition of the single-variety white rum 'Rivière Bel'Air 2020' is already being produced there.
The taste
Nose: Intense aromas, especially of fresh sugar cane and exotic fruits, are revealed. Palate: the white rum presents itself as a soft, almost creamy rum. Fresh aromas of sugar cane are also present here, underlined by a hint of spicy pepper notes. Finish: The rum develops increasingly clear fruity notes and ends with sweetness and spice.

It all started with the cultivation of sugar cane until Henri Dormoy bought the terroir. He wanted to modernize everything and opened a distillery. La Favorite Rhum Agricole Vieux Privilege pour Lulu 0.7L 41.3% La Favorite- Martinique La Favorite is the most special rum distillery still to be found on the Caribbean island of Martinique. It has been operated with the same steam engine since 1906. The distillery has always been a family business; since 1905 it has been owned by the Dormoy family, who converted the distillery into an agricultural rum distillery, but it is still one of the most traditional on the entire island. The new La Favorite is a homage to grandmother Lucienne Dormoy, known as Lulu, who ran the distillery with her husband André for more than 50 years. A special edition is now being dedicated to her on the occasion of her 100th birthday. The result is a full-bodied cuvée made from five vintages and includes a 2000, a 2001, a 2002, a 2009 and a 2010. Tasting The La Favorite character is immediately apparent on the nose. Exotic, candied fruits, especially banana, are in the foreground, accompanied by a subtle cigar note. On the palate, an astonishingly soft rum, despite an impressive 45% ABV. Here, it is mainly oak, mocha and tobacco notes that are in the foreground, but the already familiar fruit aromas are also present.

The distillery was founded in 1842 under the name 'Les Jambettes' from the remains of an old sugar refinery. It has only been operating under the name 'La Favorite' since 1851. Hors d'age la Reserve du chateau 2002 By blending different barrels, the contents of which were stored in both French and American oak barrels, the Rhum Agricole Hors d'age la Reserve du Chateau 2002 has a very complex character. This exquisite bottling is limited to just 2500 bottles. The distillation takes place in two different Creole columns, one made of copper and the other made of stainless steel. In order to develop its full aroma, the distillate was refined for 11 months in small stainless steel tanks.
