The production of Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey The secret to producing Knob Creek is that every step of the production process tries to adhere to the standards of the time before Prohibition. For example, the grain mix for the mash is blended in the pre-Prohibition style and stored for at least nine years in extremely charred oak barrels. This gives Knob Creek an incredible aroma that sets it apart from standard bourbons. The only addition that Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey receives after barrel storage is water.
