Whiskey from generation to generation

The history of Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey begins in 1788. At that time, the German Jakob Böhm emigrated to the Promised Land and was henceforth called Jacob Beam. Like most of his colleagues, Beam distilled the surplus from his grain production into liquor using his own still. The company was founded in 1795, when Jacob first distilled and sold his popular whiskey on a commercial basis. His great-grandson James "Jim" Beauregard took over the company in 1880 and gave it its name, which is still known worldwide today. At that time, however, the Jim Beam company was still relatively small and no quantities of spirits were produced that were relevant to the world market.

The stab in the back came with Prohibition in 1919, when Jim was forced to cease production. It was only after the end of Prohibition in 1933 that Jim Beam and his business partner Harry Blum were able to apply for a license again and survive the four years until the first whiskey was sold. They first brought the "Old Tub" brand onto the market, which Beam had already sold nationwide before Prohibition. However, it would not be until 1942 that the now well-known "Jim Beam" brand was first brought onto the market.

Jim Beam today

Demand for bourbon was enormous and so a second distillery was built in Boston, Kentucky in 1953. This is only 15 km from the first distillery in Clermont and, like it, has 19 fermentation vats. Both distilleries naturally produce according to the same top-secret recipe. Some connoisseurs suspect that the yeast used, to which hops are added, still comes from the same culture that Jim Beam used in the 1930s. The company's waste is naturally enormous. Over 600 barrels are emptied and refilled every day. The popular Straight Rye is also produced twice a year in the well-known yellow bottle.

Enjoy Jim Beam Bourbon

The nose can detect aromas of vanilla and floral notes in this 4-year-old big player in the bourbon whiskey segment. Initially with a clear sweetness and notes of vanilla on the palate, Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey White Label develops noticeably drier with a slightly malty note in the aftertaste. A bourbon whiskey with a light, pleasant body. An absolute must for every home bar and a classic for a variety of popular whiskey drinks.

Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey, 1 L, 40%
Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey, 1 L, 40% Whiskey production after Prohibition In 1934, shortly after the end of Prohibition, Heaven Hill Distillers Inc. was founded in Bardstown, Kentucky by the Shapira family. At the time, this new market was a highly speculative business, comparable to the internet market of the 1990s. The risk for Heaven Hill was enormous, as it had no brands or whiskey stocks of its own - and this in the middle of the "Great Depression". After a short, successful production phase, the distillery was closed by the US government in 1942 to produce spirits for the war effort. After the end of the war and the entry of Earl Beam, from the Jim Beam Company, as master distiller in 1946, things went steeply uphill again. It was finally in 1957 that Evan Williams Bourbon was introduced and quickly became the most popular bourbon in the USA. Heaven Hill Distillery today Over the years, Heaven Hill introduced numerous successful brands such as Elijah Craig and Rittenhouse Rye and became the largest family-run spirits company in the USA. The company now has 900,000 barrels of whiskey in its halls. These are the seventh largest bourbon whiskey stocks in the world. In addition to bourbon, the company also sells other spirits such as Hpnotiq Liqueur and Pama Pomegranate Liqueur. Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey is the company's very high-quality base bourbon, which is a delight both neat and in cocktails. Heaven Hill Bourbon Whiskey is very young and is stored for at least 4 years and a little longer. The nose reveals an intense rye aroma and sweet spiciness. On the palate it is spicy, light with a hint of wood. The aftertaste is warm and pleasant with a sugar/caramel note.

Knob Creek Straight Rye Whiskey, 0,7L 50%
Knob Creek Straight Rye Whiskey, 0.7L 50% Direct from the States The Knob Creek Straight Rye Whiskey comes from the Jim Beam distillery, which is based in Clermont in the state of Kentucky. With its broad range of products, Jim Beam is one of the world's top-selling bourbon whiskey producers. However, alongside the mass-produced spirits, some treasures also come to light, such as the Knob Creek Straight Rye Whiskey. Knob Creek is only sold in flat bottles and additionally sealed with a wax cap, so that the company can visibly set itself apart from the competition. The best in the world! According to the San Francisco Spirits Competition, here you can see the best straight rye whiskey in the world. The Straight Rye Whiskey is produced using the well-known small-batch process and filled into burnt-out barrels to mature for a longer period of time. Small-batch means that the whiskey is only produced in very small batches and is therefore less often available on the market. There are strict requirements for a whiskey to be called a 'rye'. It must have a rye content of at least 51% in the mash, otherwise it is not worthy of the name. The full power of rye The Knob Creek has a shaded, slightly golden amber color that enchants many people even in the bottle. Rye fans are struck by aromatic notes of various herbs and oak on the nose. However, its great taste is essentially characterized by the carefully selected rye, which gives it its distinctive and, above all, spicy aroma. The rye is accompanied by nuances of fine vanilla and again some oak wood, so that a certain sweetness resonates. The rye whiskey presents surprisingly soft characteristics in the finish, which are embraced by a warming spice. Experience the spirit of Kentucky up close and bring Knob Creek to your ranch! When you enjoy the two-time gold award-winning whiskey on your terrace at sunset, you will easily fall into a relaxed holiday mood!

Jack Daniels Bottled in Bond 100 Proof Tennessee Whiskey 1,0L 50%
Jack Daniels Bottled in Bond 100 Proof Tennessee Whiskey 1.0L 50% 100 Proof Botteld in Bond The newest member and a limited release bottling of the Jack Daniels family was first bottled for the travel retail market, but is now also available elsewhere. This 'Botteld in Bond' is intended to commemorate the year 1897. At that time, the US government passed the so-called 'Botteld-in-Bond Act'. In the 19th century, whisky was not usually bottled, which meant that many shop owners who wanted to sell it added additives or diluted the whisky after purchasing it from the distilleries in order to make more profit. Jack Daniels was one of the first companies to start bottling whisky in 1895. This was to ensure that no one could subsequently change anything in the whisky. The Botteld in Bond Act set certain requirements for the whisky to ensure its quality. One of these was, for example, bottling as 100 proof (for us that means 50% vol.) or the whisky could only come from one distillery in order to receive the quality award. Taste of the new Jack Daniels It is a very rich and strong whisky with an intense character. When you open the bottle, a lush aroma exudes. Notes of dried fruit with cinnamon, caramelized sugar and the sweet note of almonds. If you then pour a sip into the glass and let it react with the air for a moment, a wonderfully fruity bouquet opens up. You can taste green apples and the aroma of baked bananas, a little sweet Canadian maple syrup and the spice of black pepper. The aftertaste is excellent with notes of oak and toffee, ending in a persistent, warming finish.
