Château de Bonbonnet

In addition to many other wonderful spirits, the world-famous Citadelle Gin has been produced at the château, which belongs to Maison Ferrand, since 1996. In order to be able to offer customers a consistently high quality product, the château has had its own and a large area of very old juniper trees since 2017. Further projects are planned for the future that will enable the company to have even more control over individual ingredients and to maintain a high quality standard.
Since this year, 2021, the Citadelle Gin has even been distilled at the Château de Bonbonnet itself!

This year, Maison Ferrand is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Citadelle Gin. In keeping with the occasion, a limited edition gin was released alongside the opening of the new distillery at Château de Bonbonnet. With the wonderful name 'Juniper Décadence', a gin has been released that has clearer orange notes and has matured for a month in heavily toasted juniper barrels.

Citadelle Gin, 0.7 L, 44% The Citadelle Gin from France is made from wheat and spring water, enriched with 19 different herbs and spices such as: juniper berries, coriander, orange peel, cardamom, cubeb berries, licorice, savory, fennel, iris root, cinnamon, violets, almonds, cassia, angelica, lemon peel, caraway, grains of paradise, nutmeg and star anise in a triple distillation process according to the original recipe from 1771 and has a very balanced and complex character. Citadelle Gin has a delicate nose with the dominance of juniper and citrus aromas. The taste of Citadelle Gin is very elegant, round and smooth, resulting in a very fine balance that characterizes this gin.
