Potato Vodka Vintage Arielle 2013 Barrel aged
If you know a little about the Chopin brand, you'll know that the distillery specializes in three basic products. There are three single-variety vodkas made from rye, wheat and potato. The Vintage Barrel aged is also the latter version. However, a different type of potato was chosen than for the classic potato vodka from Chopin. The early variety 'Arielle' was chosen, which was harvested in Poland in 2013. Another special feature of this vodka is that after distillation it matures for at least five years in small oak barrels.
The taste
In terms of taste, this vodka definitely belongs in the premium vodka segment! The nose is already full of surprising spice aromas, you can detect fennel and a little horseradish, as well as a subtle sweetness. The sweetness develops even more clearly on the palate, with further spice notes, a hint of the finest vanilla, dried fruit and milk chocolate. The finish is long-lasting with a varied depth and a soft finish.
