Chairmans Reserve Spiced 0.7L 40% The Chairman's Reserve Spiced is the latest product from the St. Lucia Distillery. The rum-based spiced spirit contains many local spices and fruits from the independent island state, such as cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, coconut, allspice, lemon and orange peel. The bark of the potency tree (Richeria Grandis) is used as a special ingredient. This has always been known to the island's original inhabitants as an aphrodisiac under the name "Bois Bande".After the rum has been distilled in copper stills, it is filled into old Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey barrels to mature. During storage, the herbs and spices are gradually added to the rum to ensure an ideal harmonization of the aromas.Chairman's Reserve Spiced has a deep mahogany color and shows intense notes of bitter oranges, raisins, nutmeg and cinnamon on the nose. The aftertaste is characterized by exotic spices. A hedonistic but complex spiced spirit that is ideal for mixing with cranberry juice or ginger beer.

Chairman's Reserve Rum The Forgotten Casks 0.7L 40% On May 2nd, 2007, the St. Lucia distillery was hit by a fire that destroyed large parts of the administration and bottling building. Although most of the spirits were spared from the fire, the distillery was faced with major problems with regard to available storage space due to the reconstruction of the destroyed building complex.The cellar master Cyril Mangal and his employees therefore had to store the barrels in sometimes adventurous locations to make room. Some of the barrels were forgotten and only rediscovered by chance years later. An initial taste test showed that these barrels had developed exceptionally well, which is why the distillery decided to make a special bottling.The rums that were stored in these forgotten former bourbon barrels were a blend of Coffey and pot still rums. The "Forgotten Casks" rum has a strong mahogany color, is wonderfully intense and is reminiscent of raisins, tobacco and vanilla on the nose. Honey, spices and various tropical fruits are noticeable on the palate. A wonderfully balanced and complex rum!

The production of rum on St. Lucia The production of Chairman's Reserve Rum begins with the blending of six different, unique rums. All six rums are matured separately in former bourbon whiskey barrels. The rums are distilled using the traditional method in various distillation apparatus. In addition to a Coffey Column Still, the John Dore Copper Pot and the Kentucky Bourbon Vendome Pot Still are also used. After distillation, the rum matures in the barrels until its aromas have perfectly harmonized. The different stills and the blending of the different rums give the end product an enormous variety of aromas. Taste impressions of the Chairman's Reserve Rum The appearance of this distillate made from sugar cane is impressive. The spirit flows into the glass with a dark amber color, forming thick church windows on the glass wall. The strong notes of the pot still rum then appear on the nose. Sweet honey fruits, spicy vanilla and a mix of ripe raisins, tobacco and spices are immediately noticeable. By adding lighter column still rums, the rum is not too heavy on the palate, but surrounds the described aromas with a fine sweetness. The aftertaste is long and invites you to linger. A great rum at a great price!
