The Société du Rhum Barbancourt in Haiti, which is known as a leading rum producer there, is responsible for this fascinating rum. They produced the reserve rum in 2004. It was stored there until 2010, when it reached Great Britain. There it was allowed to mature for a further 6 years in American oak barrels in cool, damp cellars, until it was finally bottled in 2016 without additional coloring or sweeteners.
Compared to other products in this bottling series, the Reserve Rum of Haiti has been matured for a relatively short time and therefore has a rather light golden color.
