Appleton Estate
The Appleton Estate distillery in Jamaica is located in the middle of the Nassau Valley, surrounded by expansive green landscapes. The company's own sugar cane plantations meet the needs of the attached distillery, which is the oldest on the island, as traditional Jamaican rum has been produced here for over 265 years.
Master Blender Joy Spence
Joy Spence is the only female master blender for rum in Jamaica. Spence is already known for one or two special rums, but her latest creation, the Appleton Estate Black River Cask 15 Years, tops everything that has come before.
The rum is intended to be a homage to the famous Black River. It is the source of the water needed for production at the Appleton Estate. Due to the natural filtering through layers of limestone, it is much better than conventional tap water that is treated in plants. It gives the rum a special softness.
