Namesake
The Spanish ship 'HMS Princessa' is the namesake for the fantastic Admiral Rum.
The ship was captured by the British in 1780 during the naval battle of Cape St. Vincent and was the first ship to sign up for the Battle of Les Saintes.
As is often the case with rums, this one is also a blended rum and is a mixture of exclusive rums that have matured in American white oak barrels for between five and nine years.
Blending these rums has created a complex, perfectly coordinated aroma. These can be seen on the nose in the form of honey sweetness, raisins and a hint of tobacco. When tasting, it offers a sweet aroma on the palate that is strongly reminiscent of brown sugar or crème brûlee. The wonderful aroma of the oak wood, which comes from storage, is perfectly presented and not too intrusive. The Admiral Rodney HMS Princessa Rum ends in a long-lasting finish. The taste shows the complexity of the rum once again, as well as sweet notes of caramel and tropical spices.
