All botanicals used for this gin come from the region around El Bierzo. The distillery keeps some of the 14 botanicals secret, but those that are known include vanilla pods, thyme, bitter chamomile and Mencía wine. These are macerated in a distillate that comes from one of the best distilleries in London. Herbs and fruits are distilled twice separately. This creates a perfectly balanced symphony of clear juniper notes, fresh herbs and fruits. On the palate it is soft and creamy, almost a little oily at the beginning. The aroma of fresh juniper is clearly evident here, along with the aromas of herbs and the aroma of Mencía wine.
Gin Mare 0.7L 42.7% Gin Mare - an innovative gin Innovations in the gin segment are rarely successful these days. However, Gin Mare, produced in Spain, has already won over many gin lovers with its unusual taste. It is the first and only Mediterranean gin from Spain. The production of Gin Mare Gin Gin Mare is produced in a distillery in an old fishing village on the Costa Dourada. Green Arbequina olives, basil from Italy, rosemary from Greece and thyme from Turkey are used for the maceration, among others. These aromas give Gin Mare a touch of the Mediterranean and a light, relaxed taste. After the production process is complete, the Gin Mare is bottled. However, no ordinary bottles are used, but specially made bottles from a designer collection. With its curved shape, this bottle combines blue and white light reflections that are intended to symbolize the connection between sky, sea, water and foam. This unique bottle design has already won awards and underlines the super premium gin quality of Gin Mare. The taste of Gin Mare Gin The bouquet of Gin Mare initially appears somewhat weak. However, this is deceptive, as one is simply used to more intense aromas from other gins. If you smell the Gin Mare a little longer, wonderfully interwoven aromas emerge that immediately remind you of the Mediterranean and vacation. On the palate, the aromas of the Gin Mare then become stronger and thyme, rosemary, juniper and olives can be clearly tasted. The aftertaste of the Gin Mare is surprisingly long and nuances of citrus peel and floral notes can be perceived. Gin Mare has already won numerous awards, including some very important ones such as an award at the One World Spirits Competition (International Competition in San Francisco). Although Gin Mare is wonderful in cocktails, it is also worth trying it neat with Mediterranean dishes!
Xoriguer Gin Mahon 0.7L 38% The tradition of gin production by the English In 1708, the Mediterranean island of Menorca was conquered by the British and was part of the British Empire until 1802. In order to feel like they were in England, the English taught the Menorcans the art of gin production. Mediterranean ingredients for Xoriguer Gin The wine alcohol typical of the Mediterranean was used as the basis for the gin. Together with the aromatic juniper berries of the region, this resulted in a delicate gin that was equally appreciated by the British and Menorcans. But the inhabitants of Menorca did not want to give up the enjoyment of gin even after the British had left the island and so it is still produced in the port city of Mahon today.Incidentally, Xoriguer is the name of the old white windmill that adorns the label of the bottle. Due to its base of wine alcohol, Xoriguer is an atypical gin that is a discovery for connoisseurs and gourmets.
Ginself Gin, 0.7 L, 40% A good gin can only come from its homeland Great Britain? Wrong thought, one would now say, because more and more companies from other countries are trying their hand at gin production: With success! Ginself, a gin from Valencia, shows the connoisseur a rather subliminally Mediterranean gin, but one that is produced with a great deal of dedication and attention to detail. Ginself A lot of the work is still done by hand and so this is an absolute premium gin, because a maximum of 500 liters are produced in each batch. This takes place in a historic facility that dates back to the 18th century. The raw alcohol for Ginself is distilled from beets, into which the botanicals are then soaked for 24 hours. The distillery draws the water used to make the gin from the springs of the Sierra de España. The company deliberately avoids frills when selecting botanicals and instead relies primarily on sun-drenched citrus fruits, for which the southern state is also known. The focus is on orange blossom, bitter oranges and tangerines. In addition to the classic botanicals such as angelica root, whose Mediterranean roots also come from Valencia or Sicily, tiger nuts are also used in Ginself, creating slightly nutty, tart tones. The taste On the nose, a very fresh, fruity aroma of aromatic tangerines and orange blossoms. The aroma is filled with spicy and floral notes. In terms of taste, Ginself offers a soft and mouth-filling gin. Strong citrus notes mixed with light earthy tones fulfill the expectations that you already had in your head when you opened the bottle. The finish then offers a long-lasting freshness that reminds you for a while of the citrus fruits that were used here. You should definitely try this gin neat, but it can also be served excellently as a gin & tonic, which is particularly suitable for fans of more fruity tones.
BCN Gin 0.7L 40% Gin from Barcelona Spanish gins have been able to establish themselves on the shelves of the markets for some time now. Just like the ingredients, which mainly come from the region, such as the grapes used, which come from a wine-growing region in Priorat, and water from the "Font del Mas Petit", the in-house spring. Grapes as the basic raw material for the distillate The basis of this Mediterranean gin is Carignan and Grenache grapes, from which first-class wine is also made in the region. The region around Priorat is known for its barren slate soils and the intense sunlight, which allows the grapes to reach their full potential and gives the wine a strong complexity. The pomace that remains after wine production is then distilled in an Arnold Holstein distillery from Germany. With its slightly different botanicals for flavoring the neutral alcohol, the BCN Gin stands out from the crowd. Herbs such as rosemary and fennel are used, all of which come from the mountainous region south of Barcelona and give the brandy its Mediterranean character. Sweet figs bring fruity notes. The carefully balanced ingredients are rounded off with citrus fruits from the south of Catalonia. When you open the bottle, a sweet aroma hits your nose, followed by Mediterranean herbs that immediately give you the feeling of being somewhere by the sea. The taste is exceptionally good.
