The Takamaka Grankaz St. André Series Batch 2 is an exceptional premium rum from the Seychelles that impressively combines artisanal perfection and creative blending. Produced at the Trois Frères Distillery in La Plaine, this powerful rum, with 51.6% ABV, is based on a sophisticated composition of three different rum styles.
The blend combines Seychelles rum aged in French oak barrels, a three-year-old molasses rum from ex-bourbon barrels, and an eight-year-old Bajan Foursquare rum. After blending, the components rest in stainless steel tanks and are then slowly brought to drinking strength with pure Seychelles spring water. This gentle process ensures a particularly harmonious integration of the aromas and highlights the rum's complexity. On the nose, sweet floral notes unfold, accompanied by fresh herbs, vanilla, caramel, a hint of oak, and tropical fruits. On the palate, the rum is round and balanced with fruity nuances of pear, cherry, and plum, complemented by delicate vanilla and caramel notes.
