He grew up in a family of sailors and therefore describes himself as a kind of 'modern pirate' with a penchant for exclusive design. Sutton is actually known for a number of impressive bar designs in Asia, but in 2015 he was attracted by the idea of his own gin in Thailand. He chose Bangkok as the place where his gin was produced and wanted to capture the spirit of the Thai capital in it. The base alcohol was already made differently than with classic gins.
