The beginnings of Osborne

The history of Osborne can be traced back to 1772. At that time, the English merchant Thomas Osborne Mann moved from Exeter (Devon, England) to Cadiz. Thomas quickly gained a foothold in the regional wine business. This was facilitated by contacts with Sir James Duff and his nephew William Gordon, who together owned several wineries.

After the death of Thomas Osborne, his two sons Tomás and Juan Nicolás took over the business. Juan Nicolás also joined the diplomatic corps and received the title "Conde de Osborne". The company's best bottles are still sold today under the "Conde de Osborne" brand. The company was continued by the Osborne family through the next generations and Osborne spirits became increasingly popular with connoisseurs.

Osborne's rise to the top of the world's brandies

Osborne brandies achieved their big breakthrough on the domestic market between 1935 and 1972. This was achieved through an expansion of the product range and large-scale marketing campaigns, which reached their peak in the 1960s with television commercials. Furthermore, bull silhouettes up to 14 m high (the so-called Osborne bull), which were placed on Spanish motorways, made the brand world famous. The bull is so famous that it went from being a trademark to a national symbol of Spain and can now also be found on many Spanish flags.

Osborne Solera 103 is a Spanish spirit that was stored in Jerez/Andalusia for 1 year and blended using the Solera process. Delicately golden in color, the Osborne Solera 103 offers delicate fruity notes, some vanilla and caramel tones. Light in body, it is ideal as a base for a variety of cocktails and long drinks.
