The Malécon Rum Esplendida 1985 was distilled from molasses, a by-product of sugar production, using the Cuban method and has been stored in ex-bourbon barrels made of American white oak since 1985. This unique vintage rum was bottled in 2008.

The Malécon Rum Esplendida 1985 has an admirably complex aroma. The scents of ripe, dark fruits, raisins, cinnamon, cloves but also vanilla and dark chocolate are beautifully balanced and form a complex unity. The taste is ripe and characterized by dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and spicy oak, which are accompanied by dried apricots and plums and a light note of tobacco. The Malécon Rum Esplendida 1985 has an extremely mild and soft taste due to the long maturation.
