Macallan Easter Elchies Black 2020 Release Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 50%

The third and final release in an exceptional series, this limited edition single malt whisky embodies the welcoming warmth of the brand's spiritual home, Easter Elchies House. Inspired by the twilight of an autumn evening in the Scottish Highlands and the mesmerising firelight shining through the windows of Easter Elchies House, Macallan Easter Elchies Black 2020 Release Single Malt Whisky 0.7L 50% is a distinctively smoky and full-bodied expression influenced by The Macallan's tradition and craft. Rich and dark with a sweet smoky note, the incomparable single malt is a tribute to Easter Elchies House and reflects The Macallan's unrivalled commitment to mastery of spirit and wood. Perched on a hill overlooking the River Spey, Easter Elchies House is an 18th-century Highland manor house that lies at the heart of The Macallan's 485-acre estate and has been synonymous with the exclusive character of Speyside single malt since its founding in 1824. Built in 1700 from locally quarried sandstone, the turreted, crow-stepped house watches over the silent warehouses where the precious spirit slowly matures in exceptional oak casks.

The colour of the Macallan Easter Elchies Black 2020 Release Single Malt Whisky is reminiscent of autumn chestnuts, while the smell of smoked toffee, orange, raisins and oak spices delights with an aniseed and sweet ginger warmth. Nuances of walnuts and a gentle herbal note complete the experience. The taste is characterized by warming ginger and cinnamon, oak, smoked orange peel and a quiet herbal whisper. The finish combines sweetness and smokiness, accompanied by peaty notes and the creamy cardamom-chocolate note.

The Macallan Easter Elchies Black 2020 Whisky is therefore not just a whisky, but an artistic composition that reflects the history and essence of Easter Elchies House in every sip. A masterpiece that celebrates The Macallan's excellence in producing exceptional single malts.

Macallan Single Malt Whisky Rare Cask Release 2023 0,7L 43%

Macallan Single Malt Whisky Rare Cask Release 2023 0.7L 43% History and production of the Macallan Rare Cask: "The Macallan", this name stands all over the world for outstanding single malt whisky of the very highest quality. Above all, the use of sherry casks has given the Macallan distillery its first-class reputation. Much earlier than the competition, Macallan recognized the enormous importance of cask selection on the taste of the whisky and therefore only used the best sherry casks for maturation. It was not until 2004 that the Fine Oak series was introduced, partly stored in bourbon casks. The single malt whiskies, which are equally popular with connoisseurs and collectors, are considered the flagship of Speyside. Located on the banks of the River Spey, the distillery was licensed in 1824 and is therefore one of the oldest legal distilleries in Scotland. In addition to storage, blending is another crucial factor in developing the taste. Unless it is a single cask whisky, single malt whiskies are created by mixing different casks. This has the advantage that consistent product quality can be guaranteed over a long period of time, and skilful selection allows you to work out a desired taste and aroma profile. At Macallen, this is the responsibility of Bob Dalgarno, who has been with the company since 1984 and who worked his way up from being a warehouse worker to becoming "Master Whisky Maker". With the Macallan Rare Cask, Dalgarno has now presented a masterpiece. From the huge stock of barrels in Macallan's warehouses, he personally selected a number of sherry casks and mixed them together. The vast majority of these casks were first-fill casks, which impart a particularly large amount of aroma and flavor components to the whisky. The Macallan Rare Cask is sold in a stylishly designed bottle and an elaborately designed box that underlines the exclusive character of the Macallan Rare Cask both visually and haptically. Taste of the Macallan Rare Cask: The Macallan Rare Cask is clearly influenced by the sherry casks used. The nose immediately reveals intense, rich aromas of dried fruit, mainly apricots, figs and raisins, honey and spices. In the background, fine cocoa tones can be detected, surrounded by spicy ginger. In addition, there is a subtle ester fruitiness that harmoniously rounds off the aroma and gives the Macallan Rare Cask enormous depth. The Macallan Rare Cask has a full, expressive body and a silky mouthfeel. The finish is long and mild, with a pleasant, extremely delicate smoky note. Overall, the Macallan Rare Cask is a truly outstanding single malt whisky for very special moments, which has a unique aroma and taste profile thanks to its complexity and harmony and is guaranteed to leave nothing to be desired.

Macallan Masters of Photography Magnum Edition 0.7L 43.7% Masters of Photography Series What better way to celebrate a new opening than with a special edition? That's what Macallan thought too and decided to create a new edition of the well-known Masters of Photography series. This edition, strictly limited to 2000 bottles, even has an additional special feature this time: Compared to the previous edition, several well-known photographers from Magnum Photos were brought on board this time: Alec Soth, Gueorgui Pinkhassov, Steve McCurry, Martin Paar, Paolo Pellergrin and Mark Power worked together on this project and present impressive images of the Macallan distillery. Master distiller Sarah Burgess created the matching whisky. The new edition consists of a total of eight malt barrels. She deliberately chose barrels that have stark contrasts and characteristics to reflect the different photo styles of the photographers. In detail, there are notes of fresh, spicy ginger, oak wood and fresh hints of citrus fruits on the nose. On the palate there are fruity notes of apples and a hint of peat. You can taste honey and other candied dried fruits before the whisky goes into a medium-long finish.

Rosebank Single Malt Whisky 30 Years 1990/2020 Release 1 0.7L 48.6% 'King of the Lowlands' This is the name by which the whisky from the Rosebank Distillery was once known in its heyday. The distillery, which has been closed since 1993, was officially founded in 1840 by James Rankine. Unofficially, the Stark brothers had been distilling there since the end of the 18th century. Rosebank Distillery is also one of the five founding distilleries of the Scottish Malt Distillers and, as already mentioned, was completely closed in 1993. At the beginning of the 21st century, the remaining buildings were sold to 'British Waterways', and five years later the distillation equipment was stolen from there during British holidays. Finally, the entire property, the last stocks including the trademark rights from the previous owner Diageo, were bought by Ian Macleod Distillers. With Release 1, the Rosebank Distillery wants to start a 'new chapter'. Before the distillery was closed in 1993, however, a whisky was distilled three years earlier, which has been stored in peace ever since. The new 30 Year Old is now being released in a limited edition of around 4350 bottles worldwide.
