Karukera Rhum Gold 0.7L 40%
As early as November 1493, the Genoese sailor Christopher Columbus discovered the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, which the natives called Karukera. The island was taken over by Columbus for the Spanish kingdom. The inhabitants, however, successfully resisted the Spanish superiority and it was not until 1635 that Guadeloupe was colonized. This was done by the French, who quickly set up a plantation economy and mainly grew sugar cane and coffee.
The cultivation of sugar cane also laid the foundation for rum production and so the first distillery was founded on the island in 1895. This distillery still exists today and produces the famous Karukera rum.
The rum is not made directly from molasses, but from the fermented juice of the sugar cane. This process is only used for around 3% of global rum production and ensures a noticeable increase in quality.
The Karukera Rhum Gold is an amber-colored rum that impresses on the palate with notes of vanilla, oak and exotic aromas such as mango and peaches. The aftertaste is long and pleasant.
