Bergamot liqueur
A 'new release' in terms of liqueurs and a must-have product in every cocktail bar this year is the bergamot liqueur. Now some people may rightly ask themselves what to do with bergamot, as it is a very dominant and special taste.
Guiseppe Gallo, developer of the Italicus Rosolio, wants to introduce this special aroma to gourmets and show that bergamot can be used to refine more than just Earl Grey tea. His mother also made a liqueur called 'Rosolio' in addition to limoncello.
Rosolio is a special liqueur that was originally known primarily in Piedmont and further south in Italy, where it is mainly made from rose petals.
The Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto is also based on yellow roses, although they are not as prominent here. Made on the basis of a 300-year-old recipe, Gallo developed his own recipe and the special Rosolio Bergamottto in memory of his mother.
The small citrus fruits set the tone in terms of smell and taste. The aroma is initially reminiscent of cold Early Grey or a cool lemonade. If you let a sip of the liqueur work on your tongue and palate, the herbs used, such as chamomile or lavender, gradually unfold. Citrus notes give the liqueur a certain lightness and pleasant freshness.
