Grand Marnier is a French brand for various spirits/liqueurs that belong to the Triple Sec and Curacao family. The cognac and liqueur factory that later produced Grand Marnier was founded by Jean Baptiste Lapostolle in 1827 near Paris. It was not until a good 50 years later that the actual product and brand Grand Marnier came into being through the marriage of his granddaughter to Louis-Alexander Marnier, who developed Grand Marnier in 1880.
He also developed the bottle typical for Grand Marnier, which was modelled on a distillery and which he had trademarked.
Cordon Rouge – orange liqueur
Grand Marnier Rouge is made from a selection of the finest French cognacs and extracts of bitter orange of the 'Citus Bigaradia' variety. Everything is made according to a top-secret family recipe and, after distillation, undergoes slow maturation in oak barrels.
Grand Marnier pampers the senses with a strong orange aroma. On the palate, notes of vanilla, toffee and subtle oak notes can also be detected when tasting.
Grand Marnier is suitable both for pure enjoyment and for various cocktails and long drinks. It is also often used in the kitchen in the famous dessert 'Crêpes Suzette'.
