Glenfarclas 105 Single Malt Whisky 1.0L 60% Glenfarclas - A pioneer in the whisky business The origins of the Glenfarclas distillery, located in the heart of Speyside, go back to 1836. At that time, Robert Hay founded the whisky distillery near the popular tourist Ballindalloch Castle. In its almost two hundred year history, Glenfarclas has blossomed into a Category 1 whisky. Only the malt whiskies most sought after by blending companies are listed under this category. This good reputation in the spirits industry does not come from nowhere. Glenfarclas has been a pioneer in the whisky business for years. Glenfarclas was one of the first distilleries to bring single malt bottlings of different ages and alcohol content onto the market. Almost 200 years of tradition After opening in 1836, Robert Hay had to wait another eight years before he was granted a licence to distill whisky.
