In den 1920er Jahren verbrachte Major C.R.E Radclyffe, der Gründer von Foxdenton, seine Sommer an der französischen Riviera. Dort genoss er oft am Abend sein Lieblingsdessert, die Peach Melba. Dieses Dessert, das Escoffier nur wenige Jahre zuvor erfunden hatte, vereinte süße, zarte Pfirsiche mit einer köstlichen Himbeersauce und Vanilleeis. Inspiriert von diesem Erlebnis wurde der Versuch unternommen, den klassischen Geschmack der Peach Melba in einem Gin einzufangen.
