The single still El Dorado Uitvlugt Rum is part of an exclusive series of six limited-edition Uitvlugt Special Cask Finish bottlings. It was distilled in 2006 in the historic 4-column Savalle still, an 18th-century metal still that once belonged to the Uitvlugt Sugar Estate on the west coast of Guyana. This exceptional still and the estate of the same name gave the rum series its name.
Produced by the renowned Demerara Distillers, this remarkable El Dorado Uitvlugt 2006/2021 Madeira Dry Casks Finish Rum matured for 15 years under ideal conditions at the Diamond Plantation. Its double aging process began with seven years in American ex-bourbon barrels and continued for a further eight years in French oak barrels that previously held dry Madeira wine from a single vineyard on the island of Madeira. Bottled in 2021 at full cask strength of 56.1% ABV, this rum is a masterpiece of Guyanese rum tradition.
