A rum was distilled in column stills at the Caroni distillery on Trinidad and Tobago, which ultimately matured for 22 years on the island before being bottled at 56.4% vol. after another year in the warehouses of Bristol in Great Britain. The high alcohol content should not scare you, because on the palate the Trinidad & Tobago 1997/2019 is surprisingly soft and full-bodied. The complex aroma offers notes of dried fruit, spices and oak spices, but also sweet notes reminiscent of dark chocolate or toffee.
