The Forgotten Island
If you think of Haiti today, most people would never suspect that the island in the Caribbean was once a stronghold of sugar production; more than half of the island was active in this sector and was the biggest driver of rum in the Caribbean. It was Christopher Columbus who discovered the island on his first voyage in the name of the crown and sugar cane was already being grown there in 1492. In contrast to the now famous rum from the Dominican Republic, its style can be described as more 'French'.

The 9-year-old Haiti Rum is a rum bottling from 2004 and belongs to the 'Berry's Own Selection' series. Bottled in 2013, the Caribbean rum impresses on the nose with its oak spice, dark toffee notes and smoky aroma. On the palate, you then surprisingly discover fruity notes that are reminiscent of melon, among other things, before the Haiti rum then lingers in your memory with a long finish.
