The rum brand Bacardi is probably one of the best known rum brands in the world, something that founder Don Facundo could never have dreamed of when he founded the company in 1862. Facundo experimented for four years before opening to perfect his distillation process and left nothing to chance after founding the company. He developed two 'rum bases', one heavier and much more complex, and one slightly lighter and twice distilled. Facundo married these together and thus obtained exactly the end product he was aiming for. The process was called the 'Parallel Production Process' and is still used today in the production of Bacardi rum.
Today, Bacardi rum is known in over 100 countries worldwide and is appreciated by every bartender for its soft, light character, which is ideal for mixing cocktails or long drinks, as well as for pure enjoyment.
Bacardi Añejo Cuatro Sherry Cask
This rum is first and foremost a blend of various rums which was released as a limited edition. The addition 'Cuatro', which can also be seen on the bottle label, refers to the storage, which took place for four years (cuatro means four) in the Caribbean sun. It was then aged in sherry casks.
The taste of the rum is characterized by notes of raisins, sherry and molasses. There are also fine notes of vanilla and honey as well as Caribbean fruits such as banana and pineapple. In the background, notes of tobacco, nuts and a subtle hint of coffee can be detected.
