Brandy - brandy from all over the world

Almost all brandies that do not originate from France or Germany are called brandy. After French cognac and Armagnac, brandy from Spain and brandy from Italy are particularly popular in Germany. Spanish brandy originally comes from Andalusia, more precisely from the region around Jerez de la Frontera, which is also famous for the production of sherry. Similar to sherry, some Spanish brandies are also matured using the traditional solera method and are therefore referred to as Solera, Solera Reserva and Solera Gran Reserva, depending on their age and quality. The most famous brands are Cardenal Mendoza, Gonzales Byass, Fernando de Castilla, Osborne and Sandeman. Vecchia Romagna, Antinori and Stock 84 are the best known of the classically matured Italian brandies. The Greek brandy Metaxa also achieved world fame.
