Florian Rabanser
The clever mind behind the products of the Zu Plun schnapps distillery is Florian Rabanser. The success story of South Tyrolean schnapps began with the purchase of an ancient farm from the 15th century. Rabanser also places particular emphasis on aromatic variety, which reflects the taste of South Tyrolean nature and the surrounding regions.
Grappa made from Gewürztraminer
What many people don't know is that Traminer does not have its origins in Italy, but probably in Egypt. Over the years it came to Italy by water and has been grown there for many centuries in the area around Tramin, thus getting its name.
Pomace from selected wineries in the South Tyrolean region was also used for Gewürztraminer. The pomace from small wineries contains significantly more liquid than that from industrial plants. This means that a more powerful base product serves as the starting material for the distillate.
The grape variety is known for its complex, spicy bouquet. In the distillate, however, it has a rich, floral aroma. On the palate, it is soft and develops a fruity spiciness.
