Windspiel Gin Alcohol-Free 0.5L

Local product
If you don't already know the Windspiel distillery, you should take a closer look at this local distillery. A particularly local gin has been produced in the Vulkaneifel for some time. Local potatoes are used for the base distillate. The connection to home plays a special role here, because the gin was created in honor of King Frederick the Great (Fredericus Rex), who helped the potato achieve great success in Germany. The label also reflects this connection in the form of a picture of a dog, Frederick's favorite breed of dog.

Gin completely without alcohol

There is probably a lot of debate about the sense of a gin without alcohol, some question the point of it all, others are happy about an alternative without having to forego the typical gin character.
Here, too, the botanicals are laboriously macerated and distilled to create an intense aroma. The very typical aromas of cloves and allspice are also the focus of the non-alcoholic version. Then notes of juniper berries and citrus fruits gradually join in.

Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka, 0,5L 42%
Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka 0.5L 42% History and production of Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka: The Windspiel factory is fully committed to producing the highest quality spirits. Located in the fertile Volcanic Eifel, gin and vodka have been produced there in small quantities and with great effort by hand since 2008. What's special about it? The basic ingredient is potatoes, not grain. The Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka is made from the particularly starchy Pirol potato variety. Grown on the Weilerhof in the Volcanic Eifel, the tubers are harvested in autumn and then processed on site. First, the potatoes must be washed and freed of soil. This is followed by the crushing, which is necessary to make the starch vulnerable. Heated in a large pot, the starch swells and releases the fermentable sugar. After adding a specially bred yeast, fermentation begins. The "potato beer" is then distilled three times. This makes the potato distillate incomparably mild and gentle, without driving away the fine potato note. The Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka is then stored in exclusive ash barrels, which give the distillate additional spicy wood, vanilla and caramel notes. Bottled with 42% alcohol by volume, the Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka: does not require filtration due to its high quality. Tasting the Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka: On the nose, the Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka shows a really impressive clarity. Not the slightest alcoholic sting can be detected. The bouquet reveals well-dosed aromas of vanilla and caramel, which are surrounded by the unique potato note. The Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka is then completely convincing on the tongue. An indescribable mildness and gentleness settles on the taste buds. The finest notes of vanilla, caramel and butter biscuits dance on the tip of the tongue. In the middle third, the potato becomes noticeably more present and ensures an incomparable taste experience. In the finish, the Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka becomes increasingly spicier. The ash wood comes through clearly and leaves a wonderful impression that lasts for a long time. Overall, the Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka is a truly exceptional distillate. The potato as a basic ingredient is perceptible at all times and wonderfully integrated into the taste. The Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka is without question a vodka for neat enjoyment.

Windspiel Premium Dry Gin 0,5L 47%
Windspiel Premium Dry Gin 0.5L 47% Windspiel Distillery The special feature of Windspiel Gin begins with the selection of the base alcohol. Since the brand is in honor of Frederick the Great, king at the time, as the 'discoverer' of the potato and alleviated famine by growing it in Prussia and Pomerania, it is obvious to create a base alcohol from this very product. If you look at the wide range of gins, this is a special feature; only a few products are based on potatoes. What's more, these come from the Eifel region, which is known to have one of the mineral-rich volcanic soils and produces even more intense potatoes. The rest of the production follows the traditional production of London Dry Gin. It is distilled several times, but no botanicals or other things are added afterwards. Tasting and taste After opening the bottle, the first thing you notice are sweet, fresh notes. Classic gin notes are also noticeable. These typical aromas are more clearly recognizable on the palate, and spicy, peppery notes of coriander are added.
