Special design
Before the release of the new Wessex products, the distillery teamed up with a design company to design the bottle. Boundless Brand Design convinced them the most and together they created a bottle that stands out from all the others on the already overloaded gin shelves. The shape of the bottles is reminiscent of old apothecary bottles and each label is designed slightly differently. And another special feature of the Wessex Gin bottles is the bottle neck, which came from a reproduced silver penny coin from the time of Alfred the Great, who was the first King of Wessex in 871 AD.

Delicate floral notes
Wessex Saxon Garden is the perfect gin for long summer evenings. In addition to the main ingredient juniper, it was distilled from extracts of rose petals, hibiscus flowers and aromatic lavender. These floral, fresh notes combine excellently with the character of the dry London Dry Gin and are very refreshing.

Gin Fizz cocktail:
1 sugar cube
3-4 cl orange bitters
approx. 80 ml champagne or sparkling wine
4 cl Wessex Saxon Gin

Put the sugar cube and bitters in a champagne flute. Add the gin and top up with champagne.

Wessex Sicilian Lemon and Ginger Gin 0.7L 40.3% For the British Wessex distillery, it is particularly important to use plants, flowers and herbs that reflect Wessex in medieval times. Anglo-Saxon manuscripts and herbaria were particularly helpful for this research, as they provided information on exactly what was being planted at that time and also on the healing properties of individual plants or herbs. For example, there is chamomile, which was said to relieve eye problems when picked before sunrise, or hibiscus, which was said to cure gout when crushed in combination with lard, etc. Sicilian Lemon & Ginger is the latest addition to the Wessex Gin series and offers a delicious, spicy, new variation of gin. The recipe for this gin includes peels of freshly harvested Sicilian lemons (depending on seasonal availability) combined with warming root ginger. Sicilian Lemon & Ginger perfectly combines all the scents and aromas of natural Sicilian lemon with the sharp, spicy notes of ginger, surrounded by distinctive juniper notes - all beautifully balanced.
