Malteco Rum 20 Years 0.7L 40% Malteco Rum The rums in the Malteco range are mainly produced for the European market and offer an almost incomparable price-performance ratio. Malteco rums are already classics in the rum sector and can be found in numerous bars. They are suitable for high-quality cocktails and long drinks as well as for pure enjoyment, e.g. with a medium-strength cigar. A total of three ages of Malteco are available. The highest quality is this 20-year-old bottling, which is complemented by a Malteco 10-year-old and a Malteco 15-year-old. The Malteco Rum 20 Years This special Malteco rum has been aged for a remarkable period of at least 20 years in oak barrels. This is very, very long for a rum, as most distillates are bottled much earlier. This fine distillate has a noble amber color. The nose reveals aromas of vanilla, tobacco and dried plums. The palate has a delicate sweetness with aromas of apricot, banana and chocolate. The aftertaste is medium-length and also has a very sweet and spicy structure. We recommend that you allow yourself enough time to enjoy the Malteco rum for 20 years. For each year of barrel aging, you should allow this rum at least a minute to experience it in all its facets.

Malteco Rum Selección 1987,
Malteco Rum Selección 1987, 0,7L 40%
Malteco Rum Selección 1987, 0.7L 40% History and production of the Malteco Seleccion 1987: The rum producer Ron Malteco has built up a veritable reputation in recent years. The product range extends from highly aromatic rums, which form a strong base in cocktails and mixed drinks, to exclusive, award-winning rarities that make the hearts of all aficionados beat faster. The Malteco Seleccion 1987 definitely belongs to the latter category. The limited special editions from the Selección series are all vintage rums that are produced according to an old Guatemalan recipe. The Malteco Seleccion 1987 is made from freshly pressed sugar cane juice and fermented with a specially bred, decades-old yeast strain that creates very characteristic ester notes. After distillation in column stills, the Malteco Seleccion 1987 was stored for more than 28 years in selected white oak barrels that previously contained the best Kentucky bourbon. That is a truly impressive age for a rum. The bottle itself impresses with its unique design. Golden, curved arches run from the top into the cap and form a visual symbiosis with the decorations. The stylized silhouette of a legendary bird immediately catches the eye. This is the quetzal, native to Central America (after which the currency in Guatemala is also named), whose meter-long tail and exciting appearance are the subject of numerous myths and stories. To complete the visual appearance, the Malteco Seleccion 1987 comes in an elaborately crafted wooden box decorated with a metal lock and fittings. On the front, the quetzal can be seen again in fiery red. Tasting the Malteco Seleccion 1987: The smell of the Malteco Seleccion 1987 surprises with a great combination of dark, heavy roasted and oak aromas and ester-rich tropical fruits. Bananas, mangos and papayas are accompanied by dark chocolate, roasted almonds, coffee beans and pastries. The fruitiness fades into the background over time and is replaced by sweet notes and oak. In addition, a light, earthy grassiness hovers over the remaining aromas. On the tongue, the Malteco Seleccion 1987 is extremely mild and velvety soft. The oily distillate gently caresses the taste buds and lingers on the palate for a long time. The taste is characterized by harmonious roasted aromas and pleasant sweetness. Burnt caramel, roasted hazelnuts, freshly brewed coffee and fine dark chocolate with a high cocoa content combine with vanilla, brown sugar and candied fruit, as well as freshly baked bread with a dark crust. The strong oak spice of the Malteco Seleccion 1987 is always present and forms the flavor backbone that forms the basis for the balanced taste impressions. There is also a delicate smoky note in the background, which extends into the long, warming finish and provides additional complexity. The Malteco Seleccion 1987 is an outstanding rum that is definitely unrivalled in its complexity and intensity of taste. An absolute must for rum fans.

Malteco Rum Seleccion 1980 0,7L 40%
Malteco Rum Seleccion 1980 0,7L 40%
Malteco Rum Seleccion 1980 0.7L 40% Ron Malteco – Rum from Guatemala Ron Malteco is a rum from the Central American state of Guatemala. The history of rum in Guatemala is shorter than in some island states in the Caribbean, for example, but no less interesting. During the colonial period, Guatemala was primarily known as a coffee producer, so rum only played a minor role at that time. The first commercial distilleries were built in the last century, with the Licorera Guatemalteca, which was built in 1914, being one of the pioneers, while other well-known producers such as Euzkadi, Quezalteca and Zacapaneca only joined in the 1930s. As Guatemala was heavily dependent on agriculture and foreign currency earnings, the distilleries merged under the name Industria Licoreras de Guatemala, which enabled technical improvements and thus a significant increase in quality. Even today, virtually every bottle of Guatemalan rum - like this Malteco Seleccion 1980 - comes from the Industria Licoreras de Guatemala house. The Malteco Seleccion 1980 The Ron Malteco Seleccion 1980 is one of the house's most special and oldest rums. Rums in this age class are a rarity and are highly valued by connoisseurs and collectors. The Ron Malteco Seleccion 1980 was stored in American white oak barrels at an altitude of 2,300 m. The enormous altitude has a strong influence on the maturity and rums stored at this level develop different flavors than barrels stored at sea level. A good example of rum in this category is the Ron Zacapa 23 from the same house, stored in a double solera. The taste of the Rum Malteco Seleccion 1980 is both balanced and complex, with fine notes of vanilla, molasses and oak on the nose and palate. The long aftertaste is underlined by spice and fruit notes and is accompanied by aromas of dried fruit such as raisins and dried apricots. Best enjoyed neat or at most on a little ice!

Malteco Rum Viejo Dorado 1,0L 40%
Malteco Rum Viejo Dorado 1,0L 40%
Malteco Rum Viejo Dorado 1.0L 40% Ron Malteco Rum Who do we have to thank for the internationally famous Ron Malteco rum? Guatemalan style, so it can only come from the country of the same name... But that's wrong. Strictly speaking, we have Ron Malteco rum to thank for a small distillery in Panama. 'Golden Rum' The rum from Malteco, also known as 'Golden Rum', is the matured brother of the Malteco Seco Puro, which is also in our range. The Malteco Seco Puro is of course also matured, but in bottles, whereas the Viejo Dorado is matured in oak barrels. The rum also bears the name 'Superiore', which indicates a long maturation phase and thus places the rum in the premium segment. Premium taste In terms of aroma and taste, the Viejo Dorado has just enough to offer so that it is not overloaded, but on the other hand not too boring. The dryness known from the Seco Puro can be found again with a hint of sweet notes. The Viejo Dorado goes a step further, fruity overtones can also be detected here. The sweetness comes from high-quality vanilla, and spice notes provide a certain bite. It is recommended to enjoy it pure, with or without ice, but the Viejo Dorado is also not too good for use in cocktails.
