It is probably the only distillery that has the right to call itself 'Glenlivet', because it is located in the immediate vicinity of the bearer of the famous name, the gorge in the Scottish Highlands through which the River Livet flows. However, the distillery does not get the water needed for production from this river, but from underground springs.
