For the past 25 years, Hoxton has been the creative centre of London. Artists, supermodels, rock stars and designers have met here. Gerry Calabrese, son of the world-famous bartender Salvatore Calabrese, a well-known bartender from top London bars such as Lab, Dust and Sex in the City, lives among this diversity of artists. In 2008, he no longer wanted to be just a bartender in any bar, he wanted his own location. So he opened the bar 'The Hoxton Pony' in the East End and in 2016 Wringer and Mangle. Since the gin revival shows no signs of abating and the demand for well-made, innovative and hand-crafted gins is constantly increasing, Gerry Calabrese was not put off by the big drinks manufacturers and brought a new gin onto the market.

The spirits brand Hoxton Spirits, Great Britain, has now expanded its premium gin range to include an excellent gin: Hoxton Pink Gin.

Behind Hoxton Pink Gin is a crazy idea: In the artists' district of Hoxton in London, anything can happen and nothing is impossible. This is exactly what this gin is intended to reflect and shows this through the variety and combinations of the ingredients used. As with many gins, the quality and origin of the products used is the main focus. Ingredients such as juniper, tarragon and ginger are macerated in 150-year-old copper pots for 5 days before the single distillation.

The taste

Characterised by juniper and harmonious, floral nuances, the Hoxton Pink Gin is something completely different. Hibiscus sugar and a hint of grapefruit give the gin a balanced freshness and bitterness.

The finish is dominated by rose hips, which remain on the palate until the next sip.

Definitely not the flavours you would expect from a gin. It opens up new avenues for creative cocktails and is worth tasting!

The story behind Beefeater Gin The Beefeater Distillery in Kennington has been producing gin according to a well-guarded recipe since its beginnings in the early 1800s. The distillery's headquarters itself has a lot of history: The Beefeater Distillery is located in an Edwardian house, which was extended in the 1950s. The distillery also has pot stills from the Victorian era and a botanical room where all the fresh ingredients are kept. In the 1820s, a London pharmacist developed a way to make gin from herbs, plants, spices and a grain distillate. He developed a special distillation process for this. Beefeater Gin is named after a guard of the Tower of London (gatekeepers) and you can even see a small picture of one of these men on the gin bottle.
