150 year history

After the distillery was built in 1840 by John and James Grant, it was initially the first of its kind, until five other distilleries followed in the region. It is named after the Glen Grant stream, which carries the water for production. After both brothers died, James Grant's son took over the distillery. Towards the end of the 19th century, he built another distillery across the street, Caperdonich (better known as Glen Grant No. 2). Until this had to be closed again, No. 1 and No. 2 were connected by a pipeline.
As with most whisky distilleries, this one has changed hands many times over the years. From Seagram it passed into the hands of Pernod Ricard, then it was taken over by Allied Domeq. Today it is owned by the Campari Group.

Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 Jahre, 1,0L 40%
Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years, 1.0L 40% History and production of Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years: As with many other distilleries in Scotland, the story of Glen Grant began illegally. The two brothers John and James Grant were actually smugglers and moonshiners, but decided to apply for a license in 1840. They chose the small town of Rothes, on the banks of the River Spey, as the distillery location. The nearby barley fields, the easily accessible port in Garmouth and, last but not least, the clear waters of the Spey made Rothes an ideal location for whisky distillers. A lot has happened at Glen Grant since then. The owners have changed frequently; Glen Grant currently belongs to the Italian Campari Group. With currently eight stills and an annual output of almost six million litres, Glen Grant is now one of the largest distilleries in Scotland. The Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years is part of the distillery's standard range and is considered one of the most popular single malt whiskies ever. It matured for at least ten years in selected ex-bourbon barrels made of American oak and has a fruity, spicy aroma and taste profile. Please also note that this Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years is the exclusive special bottling with a content of one litre, which is actually only available in the Travel Value. Tasting the Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years: When poured, the Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years forms beautiful streaks on the glass wall, the color can be described as straw yellow. On the nose, the Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years reflects the prototype of a Speyside malt. It shows a very clear, strong fruit note with aromas of apples, pears and gooseberries. Overall, it can be classified as rather dry, but Christmas spices also come to the fore. Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice are harmoniously interwoven. A light oak spice has a complementary effect. On the tongue, the Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years presents a powerful start and a medium-long body. The taste profile is characterized by the combination of fruitiness, sweetness and light spice. Apples and pears come to the fore again, baked bread, vanilla, heather honey and gingerbread form a sweet counterpart. The spiciness mentioned is carried by intense herbal and spicy notes as well as oak and tannins. The Glen Grant Malt Whisky 10 years is a wonderful entry-level whisky that impresses with its Speyside characteristics and very good price-performance ratio.

Glen Grant 10 Yo Malt Whisky Miniature 0,05L 40%
Glen Grant 10 Year Old Malt Whisky Miniature 0.05L 40% Typical Glen Grant Glen Grant whisky is generally known for its fruity aromas. The 10-year-old also fits into this category, but with a comparatively stronger intensity. It was also traditionally produced in tall-slender stills, which is unique and is the only way to create a significantly fresher and maltier taste. Thanks to the traditional production processes, which are given particular importance, Glen Grant is also very clear, fresh and, above all, light in comparison to other products. Taste of 10-year-old In terms of taste, the 10 YO from Glen Grant is very uncomplicated and soft, yet also elegant. It combines oak spice with fruit aromas and the finest vanilla nuances. An aroma of grain and a little honey can also be detected on the palate. The finish is medium-long and characterized by a soft almond aroma. If you would like to get to know a Glen Grant whisky, you can do so with the miniature version with a 0.05l content.

Glen Grant Single Malt Whisky 12 Yo 1,0L 48%
Glen Grant Single Malt Whisky 12 years 1.0L 48% Whisky from Scotland When the distillery was founded in 1840, it was owned by the Grant brothers John and James. Like many other distilleries, it started out in the tradition of illegal work, but then became the first legal distillery. The brothers chose their location with the best of their knowledge and conscience. In the immediate vicinity of the distillery there is a direct connection to the port in Garmouth and the River Spey, as well as plenty of fields in the area. A good 100 years later, the company merged with JG and Georg Smith to form 'The Glenlivet & Glen Grant Distillers'. As the company's history progressed, the distillery was taken over by many others, including Chivas Bothers/Pernod Ricard in 1977 and the Campari Group in 2005. The only thing that has remained with the Glen Grant distillery, along with many others that have merged, is the name of the founders and its fame with a place among the top 5 best-selling distilleries in the world! 12 year old malt whisky This 12 year old from Glen Grant not only impresses with its fantastic light golden color, but also has a lot to offer in terms of aroma and taste. There is a pleasant aroma of fruit from the orchard, almonds and citrus fruits. These delicate notes continue on the palate, complemented by baked apple pie and caramel, and the 12 YO malt whisky ends with a long-lasting fruit aroma and a balanced spiciness.
