Espero Creole Coconut and Rum 0.7L 40% Rum from the Dominican Republic The Creole Coconut & Rum by Ron Espero has its origins in the Dominican Republic, an island state located between the Atlantic and the Caribbean, which, together with the state of Haiti, is located on the island of Hispaniola. Although the island was one of the first on which sugar cane was proven to have been grown - a sugar mill existed as early as 1516 - it is often overlooked by rum drinkers. This is probably due, among other things, to the fact that the Dominican Republic was a pre-industrial agricultural economy before it was incorporated into the American sugar empire at the end of the 19th century. Like Puerto Rico and Cuba, the country was subject to strict fiscal controls by North America in the 1930s and the economy was dominated by gigantic sugar companies that shipped most of the rum produced there to Europe. The brutal dictatorship under Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina, which lasted until the 1960s, caused further problems for rum producers based in the Dominican Republic. In recent decades, however, not only has tourism grown, but the rum brands of the Dominican Republic have also become more well-known. Brands such as Brugal and Barceló are now internationally known and are helping to further strengthen the reputation of rum from the Dominican Republic. Ron Espero Balboa 0.7L 40% Named after the great naval icon Vasco Núñez de Balboa. He was a Spanish explorer, governor and conqueror. Espero Ron Balboa is a blend of different rums from Republica Dominicana & Barbados. Ron Espero Balboa matured in bourbon barrels in the Caribbean and then for half a year to a year in used old French oak barrels after very old Nicaraguan rums. The nose reveals exotic fruits, dried grapes, coconut and woody vanilla. Perfect for rum cocktails.

Austrian Empire Navy Rum Reserve Double Cask Oloroso 0.7L 49.5% Austrian Empire Navy Rum This brand's rum series consists of various blends from specially selected barrels from the Dominican Republic. The contents of rums that have been aged for different lengths of time are married using the Solera process and then stored in oak barrels for at least 21 years for the first maturation phase. They are then all finished in different barrel types such as ex-sherry or single malt whisky barrels. Empire Navy Rum Reserve Double Cask Oloroso After distillation and initial storage in the Caribbean, the Double Cask Oloroso Rum is shipped to Great Britain and, as the name suggests, receives a 16-month finish in Oloroso sherry barrels made from Limousin oak, which gives it its sweet sherry aroma. The aroma ranges between sweet fruits and a light oak aroma. On the palate it is very complex and full-bodied. Notes of dried fruits, oak and dark chocolate emerge. The fruity sweetness is still clearly recognizable in the long-lasting finish.

The story began with a Spanish explorer, governor and conqueror who crossed Panama from the Atlantic to the Pacific in 1513. He was the first European to reach his goal. After further expeditions, he finally settled on the island of 'Hispanola', now known as the Dominican Republic, and founded his own settlement there. Ron Espero Ultimo The Ultimo from Ron Espero is a perfectly balanced blended rum made from up to 15 different types of rum, all of them solera or vintage rums from the Dominican Republic. After blending, further maturation takes place in selected former cognac barrels. A multifaceted aroma of fruits such as bananas and Caribbean spices such as vanilla or coffee was able to develop. The subtle aroma of the cognac is also noticeable on the palate.
