Sliabhliag Distillers

The small town of Donegal is often seen as a place in itself and so the products of the Sliabhliag Distillers speak for themselves and embody spirits that are made according to recipes with strong local influences. With a tradition rich in over 175 years, the company has already experienced a lot and therefore also has a lot to tell or pass on. With each individual product, the company commemorates a particularly historical event, legend or folk tale.
The focus was on reviving a smoky whisky with strong Irish influences. Recently, however, the company has also ventured into the gin industry. This is how the An Dulaman Santa Ana Armada Strenght Gin was born. It is the first gin to be distilled in County Donegal in the An Dúlamán Gin Distillery.

An Dulaman Santa Ana Armanda Strength Gin

The region is characterized by a wonderful coastline. It is therefore only natural that people here make a living from collecting and selling algae. This tradition can also be found in the name of the brand. Dulaman is the name of an old folk song about a conversation between two old algae collectors. As you can imagine, some of these algae are very popular and you could make a good living from selling them. Of course, this work also had its drawbacks, steep coastlines and a wild Atlantic Ocean, as many collectors fell victim to the wild nature. An Dulaman Gin was created to commemorate these people, who were often found along the coasts.
The aforementioned algae, five locally harvested varieties, are also used in An Dulaman Gin and give it its very special umami taste. The Navy Strength is another very special bottling, which was stored in old Roja wine barrels after distillation.

An Dulaman Irish Maritim Gin 0.5L 43.2% Sliabh Liag Distillery The Sliabh Liag Distillery has set itself the task of continuing the distilling heritage of Donagal by building the first distillery in over 170 years. With a great passion for Irish whiskey from authentic brands, the founders want to give their version of the legends and stories surrounding The Donagal Gaeltacht. Last year, Silkie Blended Irish Whiskey was introduced and the An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin distillery was launched in a rented building nearby. The construction phase continues and the distillery wants to continue to expand. The Sliabh Liag Whiskey Distillery wants to grow on a 20 hectare site in order to be able to produce up to 400,000 litres of triple distilled single malt and pot still whiskey annually. The distillery is targeting two spirits sectors that have enjoyed increasing growth in recent years. Firstly, Irish whiskey, which has been the fastest growing spirits category over the last 7 years, and secondly, super premium gin, which has scored points with the most unusual recipes. An Dulaman Irish Maritime Gin The premium Dulaman Irish Maritime Gin is the first gin to be distilled in County Donegal. It is produced near the coast at the foot of the Sliabh Liag. To make Dulaman Irish Maritim Gin as unique as possible, the distillers try to capture the 'magic of the sea' by using five of the region's native seaweed species and six other plants. The gin is bottled at 43.2% and bottled in dark, elegant 50cl bottles that are reminiscent of old stranded bottles found along the Donagal coast. To complete the overall picture, each bottle has been sealed with a wax seal. The taste of Dulaman Maritim Irish Gin The juniper is in the foreground on the palate, and as this taste fades it is filled with umami: a tasty mixture of sweet, sour, salty and bitter. A hint of chestnut can also be detected. Notes of peach follow in the aftertaste.

Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin 0,7L 43%
Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin 0.7L 43% Shed Distillery The name of this characterful gin alone arouses curiosity. Drumshanbo is a small, idyllic town in Ireland, and Gunpowder is not gunpowder, but a special Chinese green tea! The tea leaves are shaped like small balls, which is reminiscent of gunpowder, and the English name is derived from this. Pat Rigney built the distillery in the tranquil town of Drumshanbo with the aim of producing hand-crafted whisky, far away from any mass production. Gunpowder Irish Gin Gunpowder Irish Gin has a crossover character, combining Irish and oriental botanicals. In addition to the well-known ones such as coriander seeds and juniper, there is also Chinese lime, Gunpowder Tea Kaffir Lime and grapefruit. The latter are in the infusion basket. This means that the gin absorbs these aromas on its way through the distillery. A real explosion of aromas awaits you on the palate. An abundance of spice, the bitterness of the tea and, above all, juniper are clearly present. The Gunpowder Tea also brings invigorating fresh notes, as it has an aroma of smoky peppermint. In the finish, the Gunpowder Irish Gin presents itself with a long and still spicy aftertaste.

Edinburgh Seaside Gin 1,0L 43%
Edinburgh Seaside Gin 1.0L 43% The distillery, which is dedicated to the art and science of special gins, is not that old. It was only in 2010 that Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, began producing gin. This location was not chosen for nothing. The city's history of gin production, import and export can be traced back to the 17th century. In order to preserve the city's heritage, it was only right to devote heart and soul to gin production here. In addition to traditional production processes and recipes that are several centuries old, Edinburgh Gin is more interested in creating innovative gins in small batches. Through the collaboration with Heriot-Watt University, you have access to almost unlimited distillation knowledge and can use existing laboratories for analysis and further development. This Seaside Gin, inspired by the east coast, was created in cooperation with the MSC brewing and distilling centre at Heriot-Watt University. This gin represents a piece of almost untouched nature and is a very mineral-rich gin thanks to ingredients such as ground ivy and bladderwrack. Additional spices are coriander and cardamom. In terms of aroma and taste, the Edinburgh Gin clearly lives up to its promise. The use of botanicals found near the coast gives the gin a tough herbal flavour, and slightly sweet floral tones can also be detected. Especially for warm summer nights, the Seaside Gin gives a great holiday feeling with its maritime flair. Even if you are not a fan of pure gin, you should simply try this representative without any frills. If you would rather consume it in the form of a cocktail or long drink, we recommend a classic gin and tonic or a martini garnished with an olive.

Fresh, sweet and slightly grassy notes are combined. An association with coconut water and tamarind is also awakened.
